General Important DON’Ts to remember:
- Don’t use harsh chemical cleaners.
- Don’t use alcohol on any kind of pearl jewelry.
- Don’t clean any type of Pearls OR Opals in an ultrasonic cleaner.
- Don’t expose your gemstones to excessive heat.
- Don’t use anything but 100% cotton as a polishing cloth since paper, polyester, and coarse fabrics often contain wood fibers or synthetics.
- Don’t clean the item in the sink too often it ends up down the drainpipe.
- Don’t wear your jewelry if you are going to do any manual labor, including housework.

When you purchase one of my creations created with Sterling Silver or Plated Sterling Silver components and/or findings I provide a special Static Intercept® 1"x1" Non Abrasive Anti-Tarnish Tab (IS100/100) with each piece of jewelry. The jewelry item will be enclosed in a plastic zip-lock bag with this Non Abrasive Anti-Tarnish Tab and then in a jewelry box. This method of packaging will protect the piece from tarnishing for up to 12 months and this little tab can protect all items in a container up to 30 cubic inches in size! |

Some gemstones may have been treated or enhanced by heating, oiling, irradiation or diffusion. Heated and irradiated stones generally don’t require special care when cleaning, but diffused stones could become lighter if scrubbed too hard. Also, the oils on some fine gemstones and Mother of Pearl or Shell beads can be stripped away by cleaning, making them change appearance. If this happens, simply take it to your jeweler for re-oiling. |
